Coming from Salida or BV on Hwy 24, turn east at the 24/285 stoplight, about 2 mi. north of Nathrop, a little less than 2 miles south from BV. Cross the RR bridge and continue through Johnson Village, whose most prominent landmarks are the Coyote Cantina on your left and the Gunsmoke Plaza on your right. Continue east and cross the river bridge. Shortly after the bridge you’ll pass the prominent Wilderness Aware Rafting sign on the left. Slow down here and after about 500 feet turn left onto 301. We’ll put up a sign at the intersection. Continue to where CR 301 dead-ends at Charlie’s home, a little under a mile from the turn off the highway. There’s a turnaround and Charlie’s driveway continues from the end of the turnaround, just left of the No Trespassing sign. You may have to park before the driveway depending on how many cars are already there. Go go around the left side of the house to the door.
