Important Chaffee County Democratic caucus & assembly information

Precinct caucuses will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at the following locations:

• Precincts 1-4 will meet at Avery Parsons Elementary School, 516 E. Main St., Buena Vista.
• Precincts 5-9 will meet at Longfellow Elementary School, 425 W. Seventh St., Salida.

Twenty-six delegates will be elected to attend the Chaffee County assembly, three from each precinct except Precinct 4, which will have only two delegates.

The Chaffee County assembly will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at Poncha Springs Town Hall, 330 Burnett Ave, Poncha Springs. Fourteen delegates will be selected at the county assembly to attend the state assembly, which will be held Saturday, April 14, in Broomfield.

As far as we know, the other multi-county district assemblies of which we are a part (HD 60, SD 5 and CD 5) will be held in conjunction with the state assembly. Not all candidates currently running will make the ballot, so if you are supporting a particular candidate, you should organize to turn out other people in support. Information about caucus training will be forthcoming.

Since this was originally posted, our county precincts have been updated again so please check these maps to determine your precinct.
