No Kings.** \nWhat began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny\, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever. When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink\, we will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence. \nOn March 28th\, rise up\, take to the streets\, and say it loud: no thrones\, no crowns\, no kings. We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it. Join us. They can’t take away our joy and love for our country! 💕 \n👉👉IMPORTANT INFO: We will gather at noon at Alpine Park (5th and F Streets) in Salida and march down F St to Riverside Park. When marchers arrive at Riverside\, there will be music\, political theater and a Democracy Fair\, where local community groups will have tables with information about their organization and how you can take action. A rally with dynamic speakers will begin at 1:00 pm. The event is over at 2:30 pm. We will also be collecting donations for mutual aid. DESCRIPTION:This event is hosted by Chaffee Immigrant Partnership Team and Ark Valley Indivisible. \nICE activity has increased across Colorado\, including in rural areas. Our community has also been touched\, and many residents have expressed concern about the impact on families and neighbors. Questions are circulating: Will we see more ICE agents locally? How are our institutions prepared? What plans are in place? How do local law enforcement agencies interact with ICE?\n\nJoin the Chaffee Immigrant Partnership Team and Ark Valley Indivisible in this town hall to hear directly from local leaders about how our community responds\, how agencies coordinate\, and what residents can expect when immigration enforcement occurs locally.\n\nPanelists include:\n\nChaffee County Sheriff Andy Rohrich\nSalida Police Chief Russ Johnson\nSalida School Superintendent David Blackburn\nMayor Justin Critelli\nChaffee County Commissioner P.T. Wood\n\nThey will address:\n\nCurrent policies and procedures\nHow the Sheriff’s Office and Police Department interact with and respond to ICE\nWhen and how local agencies coordinate or communicate with federal immigration authorities\nThe policies and responsibilities of the school district\nHow local agencies coordinate with each other\nHow information would be communicated to the public\nWhat residents should do if they suspect ICE activity\n\nClear information helps reduce uncertainty. This town hall gives residents an opportunity to hear directly from local leaders and ask questions about how our community responds to ICE actions.\n\nThe event will include a moderated Q&A session with attendees. Community members are invited to submit questions in advance when registering on Mobilize. (There is a prompt after your contact info on the registration page to submit a question.) Not all questions will be addressed in this time frame but we will consolidate themes to have the panelists respond to as many as possible. Attendance will be capped based on the allowable number of persons per the fire dept for the venue.
