2018 Election Results

Chaffee County Democrats!

We made huge gains at the statewide level in the 2018 General Election.  Jared Polis is our newly elected Governor, Phil Weiser – Attorney General, Jena Griswold – Secretary of State, Dave Young – State Treasurer, and Lesley Smith – CU Regent, all Democrats that won their statewide races.  Our State Senator Kerry Donovan was re-elected and is now the Majority Whip in the Colorado Senate. We flipped the State Senate to a Democratic majority as well as the State House which has not been done since 1936.

In Chaffee County, congratulations to Jeff Graf, our new Chaffee County Coroner-elect! Lori Mitchell who was re-elected as our outstanding Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder. Stephany Rose Spaulding, Erin Kelley, Kimberly Parker and Susan Shepherd did not win election.  BUT, all other Democratic candidates won Chaffee County itself.  If you will remember 2016, Keith Baker was the only Democrat who won election in Chaffee County.

In one election cycle, this Chaffee County went from light pink to violet.   During our campaign we made an incredible number of door knocks, telephone calls and texts. Phenomenal work!

Everyone on this team is a champion, everyone left it all on the field, and at least 50 volunteers became very active and engaged this year.  WE have done amazing work in 2 years, and built a strong foundation, and of that we can be VERY proud.

Thank you to all of our hard working volunteers. We just could not have done it without you!
