Message from the Chair – November

Election victories across Chaffee County shifted the County ever more blue! Laura Hansen, Jeremiah Johnson, candidates supported by the Chaffee DEMS, as well as Casey Martin won their races for the Buena Vista School Board. Salida School Board Candidate, Tiffany Rhodes also won her seat. Wayles Martin and Shelley Schreiner took Salida City Council Seats and Justin Critelli won the Mayor’s seat.

The Chaffee County Democrats made calls, sent mailers, and knocked doors for all these candidates. Some of you even knocked doors with Senator Hickenlooper!

We will be celebrating these victories and more at our Annual Holiday Party, Saturday, December 13th at the Boathouse Cantina in Salida from 5-7 pm. We hope you will join us for a complimentary lasagna dinner with a no host bar (drinks on you!).

The Chaffee County Democrats biennial Caucus and Assembly is scheduled for Saturday, March 7th at the Salida Middle School. This is an important event for nominating  county candidates to the ballot and electing delegates to the State Assembly  where state and federal candidates (think Governor, Attorney General, and Senator) will be nominated to the ballot.

If you have a favorite candidate that you would like to support, consider becoming a delegate to the State Assembly which will be held on March 28th in Pueblo.

We hope to see you at the holiday party so we can continue to celebrate our Chaffee County victories!

With appreciation,
JoAnne Allen, Chair
Chaffee County Democrats
