MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
“This is the most important election in history.”
How many times have we heard those words? Never before have they carried the weight they do now. This year, the stakes are undeniable. America is at a tipping point. We must win the midterms and act now to turn the ship of our democracy back onto a course that reflects our shared values—bold values of equality, fairness, respect for the rule of law, and kindness toward our fellow human beings.
Winning our county, state, and federal races will require active, committed volunteers bringing many different skills, talents, and ideas. No single person can do this work alone. To build the strength we need, we will be hosting “Organizing for the Midterms” house parties across the county. These gatherings are designed to connect people, share information, and begin the work together. The first house party will take place on February 7th in Nathrop, with more details below.
Invitations will also be extended to Unaffiliated voters who share our values and who want to see an end to the division and dysfunction that are tearing our nation apart. Building a broad, inclusive coalition is essential to winning—and to governing well.
The March 7 caucus and assembly is an important opportunity for you to directly participate in our democratic process. At the caucus, you can help nominate county candidates to the ballot. You may also be selected as a delegate to the state assembly, where candidates for federal offices—such as U.S. Senate—and statewide offices—such as Governor and Attorney General—will be nominated.
This moment calls for unity, generosity, and action. Every hour volunteered, every conversation held, and every new person welcomed into this work strengthens our movement. Together, by showing up and supporting one another, we can protect our democracy and build a future that reflects our highest values.
