Meet Colorado Attorney General Candidate Michael Dougherty

SALIDA, Colo. — Community members are invited to meet Michael Dougherty, candidate for Colorado Attorney General, on Monday, June 8, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Little Cambodia Restaurant, 7595 US Highway 50, Salida.

This informal gathering will provide an opportunity for residents to hear directly from Dougherty about his vision for Colorado, ask questions, and discuss issues important to Chaffee County.

Many local advocates first became acquainted with Dougherty when he came to Salida to stand alongside immigrant communities and their supporters, voicing opposition to private corporations profiting from the expansion of the immigration detention system. His willingness to show up, listen, and engage directly with community concerns left a lasting impression.

Dougherty’s record of public service has also drawn attention across Colorado. As Boulder District Attorney, he has conducted Know Your Rights trainings, supported immigrant protection efforts, developed innovative hate-crime initiatives, and worked to ensure that vulnerable communities have access to justice. He has earned the endorsement of Rocky Mountain Equality Action Fund for his longstanding support of LGBTQ+ communities and has prosecuted environmental crimes and public corruption cases throughout his career.
